OUR PROJECTS
The Foundation for Regeneration (“FFR”) is dedicated to creating meaningful demonstrations that showcase the promise of Regeneration. We believe in using the tools of philanthropy, social entrepreneurship and impact investing to catalyze programs in economic development, community empowerment, and ecological health in the American Midwest. We believe that by focusing on understanding the hyperlocal in Kansas City within the greater Midwest region, we can make sense of and iterate on nature based solutions and the corresponding programs that are relevant nationally.

The Kansas City Metropolitan Area (KCMA) currently operates predominantly within a linear “take-make-waste” system that results in significant material loss and economic inefficiencies. This Material Flow Analysis (MFA) provides a comprehensive assessment of KCMA’s waste streams, highlighting opportunities to transition towards a circular economy—one that retains resources in productive use, reduces landfill dependency, and creates economic value.
